Note Update (1/08/2015):
We are taking a hiatus from breeding which means we will no longer be breeding for awhile. My life has taken a major turn and I am no longer able to care for the rats like they deserve. They will all be going to good homes either with pet adopters, back to their original breeders, or breeders I'm currently working with.
Right now I need to focus more on myself and human family. Thank you for understanding!

Sweet Whispers Rattery has relocated to Allentown, Pennsylvania 18103 in Lehigh County. We are in the Eastern region of the state, breeding since 2009. We are registered with NARR (North American Rat Registry) with the prefix STWR. We also keep track of our pedigrees using KinTraks, animal breeder software.
Here at Sweet Whispers Rattery first and foremost we breed for health, temperament and longevity. Our number one goal is to have sweet n healthy rats. Our next focus is on structure and finally, color. We work with both ear types, dumbo and standard. We offer mainly standard sized rats, but will occasionally have dwarf available. Many of our rats also carry manx (tailless) genes, so we may occasionally have manx available. We work with the following coat types: Standard, Rex, Double Rex, Velveteen, and Harley.
Our main lines consist of Aurora/Chinchilla based varieties along with a Marked line which we are working to incorporate downunder into, currently. We have a small number of Merle as well. We used to also specialize in Black-Eyed Siamese, Burmese, and Roan, however, due to some life changes we have entrusted these lines to fellow breeders/friends until the time when we are ready to add more lines again. Due to recessive genes, we are able to offer adopters a wide variety of colors that we may not necessarily focus on.
Adopters are required to sign an Adoption Contract at time of pick-up.
You must bring your own travel carrier. I can not allow you to take home your babies without being in an appropriate carrier.
Our rats must be adopted in same sex pairs, unless you can provide proof that you have a rat of the same sex and around the same age at home, even then I really prefer a same sex pair. It is very rare that we will adopt out single rats, only under specific circumstances.
Once you take your baby home our involvement does not end. We are available throughout your rat(s) life. We will be here if you have any questions or concerns. We also love getting updated information and pictures!!
